  1. Cally Smit says:

When should one give the daily dose, in the morning feed or evening feed. (Non-event use) , for daily riding use, my horse is spooky and tense all the time. Thank you.

  2. Hi Cally,
If you can, its best to feed the Calm mix in the morning feed. Then you get the maximum effect during the day when you are riding.

  3. Can one feed Calm Mix continuously or is it advisable to take breaks ?

  4. Steffi, I recommend a break of about one week every three months. Not mandatory, but always advisable with herbs.

  5. Hi,

I have a 5 year old Boer perd, who has had quite a traumatic gelding experience. He is now quite scared of people, and jumps out to bite if we approach suddenly.
If I used calm mix, would it make initially approaching him easier?

  6. Mike. Yes definitely. But start off with a large dose – double or triple the recommended dose. Fear is a VERY powerful thing to try to overcome. Good luck.

  7. I have to tell you that I have tried many, many different calming supplements on my Thoroughbred and nothing has helped – until yours. I will be sending you photos and a story about him because I believe that he is a GREAT testimonial for your product. Tropic Express (now almost 9yo) is a very highly strung thb and I’ve owned him for just over 4 years now. I’ve tried everything (and I mean it) because he has a very explosive personality at shows and I have to sit his bucks and fly leaps. I love him and so have persevered through it all – and started your supplement about 3 months ago.

Well, last week I did a little fun local show and people commented about his lack of ooompf…………….. My passion is Show jumping and it is really important that he can focus on the job and not be silly.

  8. My Clydesdale stallion is doing so well on it when he travels, that I have now put my mare on it, when she travels. She is the worst traveller, but when I have her on the Calm mix, she is much calmer, and actually stops sweating and falling over.

  9. I have recently started using Herbal Horse Calm Mix on 4 of my horses and I have seen an incredible difference in all 4 of them. I used to lunge them to death before getting on and now my 4 lunatics have become really nice, easy, relaxed horses and are very focused on their work. I have become a firm believer in Herbal Horse Calm Mix as I no longer have to lunge them for 20 minutes before I could get on and even think about working them.

  10. My horse has been on one scoop daily of Calm Mix for a couple of weeks now and I have noticed a real difference. A new gelding arrived at the stables and there was no mare-ish behaviour from her at all. She has been better at concentrating on her work at home and when we went to a show this weekend (our second ever AE dressage), she was a star in spite of the pouring rain, coming 1st and 2nd. So I am very chuffed and will happily recommend your product to everyone – give me a shout if you ever want a spokesperson!

  11. I started feeding my mare one scoop calm mix a week before the show and 4 scoops the morning of the show and the difference was absolutely amazing. We had a little tenseness and calling at the beginning of our warmup but she settled down after a little while and worked like an absolute trooper. Usually we have ok warmups and then things fall apart in the test but she stayed consistent and calm throughout even though we had to wait around for half an hour due to classes running late. We didnt place but our scores were great (62.8% for the first test and 56.8% for the 2nd test).
In 2 week’s time we’re going to riverleigh and I’m actually looking forward rather than dreading it!

  12. I have a TB gelding that is extremely spooky and jumps out of his skin for the slightest unusual sound or sight. He is a big horse so its quite scary to ride him when he is like that ( which is all the time ). He is quite impossible to box too, and difficult at shows, but he is my baby and I am not prepared to sell him. Will Calm mix help, and how much should I give him.

  13. Tristan says:

I have a Chestnut TB mare – she is extremely hot and I have put her on this now :-) She has been on it now just over a month and it’s starting to take affect now. Her mood seems better and some days I can see she is calmer. Should I perhaps increase the dosage for a month or two and then down to the normal dose or does it take a while to take full affect on the normal dosage?

  14. I have a very moody mare. Would this calm mix make her better and less moody?

  15. Lizel, yes, it should. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
Tristan, double the dose for a while, until you see a definite difference. Then slowly cut down to the minimum dose you can give and still get the desired effect.
