Description:

Contains probiotics (Lactobacillus Sporongenes/Bacillus Coagulans), prebiotics (Fructo-Oligosaccharides) and a stomach soothing blend of herbs. Probiotics are living bacteria, and have been shown to have numerous health benefits. Your horse’s gut is populated by many different organisms, some good, some harmful. Probiotics not only help the digestive tract function, they also reduce the presence of less healthful organisms by competing with them for the limited space available. Prebiotics are ‘food’ for the probiotic. In addition, Digestion mix provides a blend of herbs, each of which has been proven to help with gastrointestinal complaints.

Dosage:

One scoop per day (ie. 15 g per day, mixed into the concentrated feed). One 500 g bucket will last one horse 4 weeks.

    Raju, the horse we got the digestion mix for showed a wonderful response to one scoop/ day. His bloatedness improved remarkably and seems that he is far more comfortable now, so much so that we have been able to start riding him. Thank you so very much. Obviously the product came to an end and he hasn’t really started to bloat again, so it has definitely had a lasting effect. Thank you for the wonderful product!

    can you tell me more about the herbs in this product, does it act to reduce acidity in the gut at all?
    can it be used in conjunction with you calm mix product?

    Lisa, thats a difficult question. Herbs, because they aren’t ‘patentable’ do not have the extensive research done on them that new drugs do. For that reason, in using herbs we often rely on evidence buiit up over 1000’s of years of use. Which means that often we know that a herb works in relieving a certain conditon. But we don’t know exactly HOW it works. If your question had been ‘do the herbs in Digestion mix relieve ulcers and colic?’, my answer woud’ve been ‘yes, defintely’. But I am not sure if they do so by reducing acidity or by some other means. My suggestion to you is to try it out. Then let me know what you and your vet think. Also, yes, it is safe to use in conjunction with any other of our products.
