Question:
As of late, my mare has been coming into heat every 21 days, which
seems a bit quick to me! She is a four and a half year old Anglo
Arab. She has started to cry out when we are riding and keeps looking
around for other horses. This only happens when she is on heat,
so it is not a case of her working alone. Generally she couldn't
care who she works with! This weekend she got very excited as I
worked the gelding before her. She was running around the camp outside
her stable and yelling the odds, even though he was out of her sight
and quite a way away. When I got back to her she was all sweated
up and in quite a state. Can you suggest anything for her, just
to make her life more bearable each month.
Result:
Our product that we have had success with in similar situations
is called Calm mix. We tried it out on a mare called Queen, who
couldn't even be ridden whenever she came into season. It seemed
to balance her hormones out a lot, because after a few days of Calm
mix, she could be ridden during her season and was completely normal.
She even ignored the love of her life, a gelding she is stabled
with.
Follow up:
My mare is much much better. Actually she is at present on heat,
and only mildly grumpy. At least she is manageable. I have been
giving her about half a scoop all month which has helped with her
general spookiness and started her on a full scoop the day before
she was due to come into heat!! I am very impressed!
