Glossy coat comes out

Hi Beryl,

Remember I told you about D’s coat looking yuck after the winter?

Anyway yesterday I was grooming him when I noticed these weird dark patches (he’s still fairly orange at this stage) behind his elbows and nearly had a heart attack thinking girth gall. On closer inspection I found dark patches and spots everywhere… he’s FINALLY shedding out the winter woolies and his summer coat is growing in fine, smooth, black and very very glossy. Kudos to show mix!

Raindancer

Hi Beryl,

I've sent you some pics of an 18 month old WB gelding I bought a year ago. When I bought him, I did not want anyone to see him, 'cause he really looked a bit like an SPCA case. The foals have had a long hard, and dry winter on the farm, and did not look their best. As soon as he was home with me, I put him on one tub of Show Mix, and well... you can see the beautiful results in the second pic! (He is now two and a half, and I will be backing him soon.)

The three pic's are as follows:

  1. "Raindancer met Heidi" - this is when I went to look at him on a farm, before I bought him
  2. "Raindancer - 2yrs" - As it says - this photo was taken 6 months ago (at 2yrs of age), and (to me) he is still beautiful! All thanks to SM!

Thanks so much for these wonderful products!

Love
Heidi - Bloemfontein.

Look at him!

The bucket of Show Mix is finished! These photos were taken last weekend at a Showing show at Graceland . I can't really say that I've noticed the SM working for the sun bleaching but Draco sure as heck is shiny!

Show mix for a horse off the track

My horse is looking well at the moment, I’ve had him on the Show Mix and boy it works wonders, he doesn’t look as lean as when he arrived. You should also see my friend's horse "Badger" who has been on it a month longer than my horse, he looks fantastic, he is FULL of dapples and is shiny/fat and looks VERY well. Let me tell you there isn’t a blade of grass in his paddock he only gets hay during the day, and is only on 4½kg's of food.

Poor Desert!

In our attempts to find a junior horse for a friend of ours, we somehow managed to come across Desert.

We were looking for a large gelding that would jump and apparently he fits this bill. We were told that he had lost some weight but did not expect him to be as bad as he was.

When we first saw him he was lying in the corner of the field and did not appear to want to bother getting up. He was covered in ticks and bite marks where the other horses had tried to kill him. He had also apparently jumped a fence, leaving a nice scar on his front leg. (See the "Before" pic to the left)

He had been turned out in the veld and when he got out the horsebox at our stable yard he heaved a bit sigh of relief, "Ah, civilization at last!"

The first few days he tottered between water trough and teff net, afraid that if he closed his eyes they would disappear and he would be back in the veld again.

Now after a month, he is already looking much better. Although still thin, his coat is starting to shine and his sores have healed. Our equine therapist suggested that we start light lunge work and he appears to enjoy it. (See the "After"pic to the left)

He also enjoys going for walks in hand all over the property in the bush with his new owner. They run along side by side jumping over bushes and logs.

It will be a while before he is able to prove whether he will indeed be the showjumper we were looking for, but at least he has a new lease on life!

The Show mix has most definitely helped the shiny coat and there is an increase in weight already. And we give full credit to the Immune Mix for assisting the bite marks to heal, as well as ensuring that he did not get tick fever (we filled half a 500ml cooldrink bottle with ticks off of him).

Regards,
Dawn

Show mix for a thin horse

Our most sincere thanks to you for the Show mix. We are very happy with the product, and it does seem to be making a difference to the thin horse.

Show mix helps a hot horse

I own a Harry Hotspur baby: Hot Masala, and as everybody knows the Harry Hotspur bunch are all pretty damn heady and you have to be absolutely soooo careful with what and how you feed them.

I have had him in good condition and sane on 5.5 kilos of Equifeeds (warmblood mix), teff ad lib and barley BUT with winter he experienced a bit of weight loss, nothing serious but just enough for me to fret and explore some options.

He's been on Showmix for a week and a bit and within the first week I had to cut the food back to 4 kilos already. The amazing thing is that he maintains condition, he is FINALLY eating all his teff. I've cut his food to 3 kilos now and so far so good!!!

Thank you, Linda
